1. Basic Facilities in Each Dormitory
● Each room is equipped with a desk and chair, wardrobe, bed frame, desk lamp, ceiling light, electric fan, power outlets, and internet ports.
● Common areas include lounges, bathrooms, drinking water dispensers, coin-operated washers and dryers, spin dryers, food heating equipment, and vending machines.
● Some dormitories are additionally equipped with study rooms and elevators.
2. Residents are required to prepare their own internet cable, mattress, bedding (blanket and pillow), and personal hygiene items.
3. Service centers provide items such as keys, screwdrivers, pliers, thermometers, carts, and dehumidifiers for borrowing. A valid ID must be deposited when borrowing, and all items should be returned on the same day to ensure availability for other residents.

1. Repair Request
● Repair requests can be submitted through the Dormitory Repair System on the Division of Student Housing website.
● For dormitory network issues (including network ports), please do not submit a repair request through the dormitory system. Please contact the NTHU Computing and Communications Center directly (Extension: Main Campus 31000; Nanda Campus 76405).
2. Repair Scheduling
● Based on submitted repair requests, staff from the Division of Student Housing will coordinate with contractors and arrange repair schedules.
● In principle, repairs are carried out on weekdays (Monday to Friday). This does not apply to special circumstances or emergency repairs.
3. Repair Procedures
General Repairs
● Common Areas: Repair work will generally be announced at least three days in advance before implementation. However, urgent maintenance involving utilities (such as water, electricity, gas, or bathrooms) is exempt. (If repairs last more than one day, an announcement will still be made.)
● Dormitory Rooms: Repairs are usually conducted with a dormitory staff member accompanying the contractor, or with prior consent from the residents.
Emergency Repairs
● In cases of force majeure (e.g., sudden failures of water or electricity), repairs will be carried out immediately with a dormitory staff member present.

● For Dormitory Shiue, Ru, and Hung, hot water is supplied by individual gas water heaters. If there is no hot water, please first submit a repair request and then visit the service center of your dormitory to ask the staff to check or replace the batteries.
● For other dormitories, hot water is supplied by a central boiler system, which operates daily from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM. If there is no hot water during operating hours, please submit a repair request and contact the service center. From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, hot water is provided by small gas or electric water heaters for washing purposes (The locations of these heaters vary by dormitory).

● To maintain air quality and reduce grease and smoke, as well as to ensure electrical safety, dormitories are only equipped with rice cookers, microwave ovens, and ovens (except for Dormitory Hung, which serves as the International Student Dormitory, and Dormitory Jen and Shyr under the Residential College). These appliances are for heating food only. Cooking or stewing is not allowed.
● Induction cookers for cooking are available in designated public kitchens. Please refer to Q5. Guidelines for Using Public Kitchens for more details.
● To follow the user-pay principle and ensure electrical safety, all kitchen appliances are connected to separate meters and require an air-conditioning card for use. (Electricity fees are charged according to the standard rate; no additional fees apply.) Unauthorized relocation of appliances or modification of power connections is strictly prohibited.
● Before use, please carefully read the operating instructions and use appropriate containers to avoid damaging the equipment.
● After use, please take away all trash and food waste. Recycling bins are available in each dormitory. Do not dispose of trash in public areas, restroom bins, or toilets to prevent hygiene issues and blockages.
● Personal cookware, tableware, and belongings must be removed after use.Do not leave personal items in common areas.
Article 9 of the Dorm Rules:
Students who violate the regulations listed in the Point Deduction Standards Table shall be subject to the violation point deduction. Repeated violations of the same item within the same academic year shall result in double the point deduction.

2-2 Without the consent of the Division of Student Housing, the use or placement of electrical appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, electric kettles, rice cookers, electric heaters, televisions, VCRs, electric blankets, or electrical appliances with a power consumption of 500W or above that may affect electrical safety will result in a deduction of 5 points per item (counted as a violation item). Violating items must be removed from the dormitory within two weeks. Failure to remove them upon reinspection will result in continuous point deductions. (Mobile phones, tablets, computer peripherals are excluded. Hairdryers are only allowed to be used in the common room, bathroom, or toilet. Violators will be subject to point deductions as specified above.) 5 points
2-4 Using open flames in the dormitory area; placing or possessing open-flame devices such as portable gas stoves or gas canisters.
2-7 Unauthorized moving or occupying of public equipment (provided by Division of Student Housing) or public spaces (in areas outside of dorm rooms) for the placement of personal belongings.

kitchens are located at the entrance of the female's dormitory area on the Main Campus and below Dormitory Hua. The usage guidelines are as follows:
1. The public kitchen is managed by integrity, please use the highest ethical standards to maintain the facilities and the surrounding environment.
2. Objects: Residents who finished the housing procedure.
3. Open hours: daily from 6 am to 9:30 pm. (The power will be cut off at 9:30 pm)
4. Specifications:
(1) The resident enters by student ID card.
(2) The kitchen appliance is charged by user. Please bring your own air-conditioning card to use.
(3) The user prepares the pot by himself/herself. After use, please bring the pot back. Do not place in the kitchen, otherwise it will be removed as garbage.
(4) After use, please clean the kitchen and take away the food and garbage.
5. If the equipment is damaged or lost due to human factors, compensation should be based on market prices.

1. Public Refrigerators
Public refrigerators operate under a natural phase-out policy. When a unit is damaged beyond repair, it will be removed and not replaced. Residents may apply to place a personal refrigerator in their dormitory room for self-management.
2. In-Room Refrigerator Placement and Application
(1) Qualification
● Students currently living in dormitories.
● Applications are accepted on a per-room basis and individual applications will not be accepted.
● Only one refrigerator can be placed in each room.
(2) Specification: The maximum capacity allowed is 100 liters. (No refrigerator is provided)
(3) Usage Period: From the check-in date to the check-out date of each semester. No application is required for summer use.
(4) Fee: The fee for one semester is 400NTD (or for one academic year is 800NTD). The fee is charged per semester and is not divided into monthly installments. Once approved and paid, it is non-refundable.
(5) Application For: Available for download on the Division of Student Housing website, or can be obtained in person from the office.
(6) Application process: Fill out the application form → Go to the Division of Student Housing office to get the payment → Pay at a convenience store→ Return to the office with the receipt to confirm and get the payment certification
(7) Other rules:
● After the application has been approved, please stick the payment certification to the refrigerator. Use a separate power outlet or an extension cord with an automatic overload protection device. Do not use multi-outlet sockets without protective devices to avoid potential hazards.
● If there is a room change, bring the payment certification to the office for an update.
● Residents are required to check out of the dormitory and take all personal belongings (including the refrigerator) with them by the deadline announced at the end of the semester. Violators will be punished in accordance with the Dorm Rules, Article 7, paragraph B.
● In case of power outages, maintenance, or other projects that prevent the use of the refrigerator or electricity on campus, the school will not be responsible for any compensation.
(8) Notice: All roommates must agree and sign the application before applying for setting. After the application is completed, if any roommate raises an objection, it can only be withdrawn with the consent of all roommates in the same dormitory, and no refund will be made.

● Sanitary items (e.g., toilet paper, facial tissues, sanitary pads) should be disposed of in the restroom trash bins. Do not flush them down the toilet.
● Do not dispose of garbage, recyclables, food, kitchen waste, tea leaves, or other items in restroom trash bins or toilets. Please use the designated recycling and waste sorting bins in each dormitory to avoid environmental issues and clogged toilets.
● Maintaining a clean and pleasant living environment is a shared responsibility of all residents.
