● Please follow the check-in and check-out procedures as announced each semester or summer term.
● If you are checking in outside the designated period, current students must bring their student ID, and new students must present proof of identity or payment receipt to the respective service center to collect their room key.
● Students who have changed bed assignments during the semester must bring the Bed Change Application Form to the service center to receive the key.
● Upon checking in, students must inspect and verify all dormitory equipment and furniture in the room. If there are any missing or damaged items, please immediately report them to the dormitory manager for repair or replacement.

● Students can access their assigned dormitory at any time by tapping their student ID card on the entrance card reader. If your student ID is lost or access fails, you may borrow a temporary access card from the service center, in accordance with the Loan Procedures for NTHU Housing Temporary Card.
● If your student ID is lost, you can apply for a replacement via the Academic Information System (renewal guide), or contact the Campus Security Office – Card Issuance Center at 03-5714769.
● After reissuing your student ID, if you still cannot access the dormitory on the following day, please visit the Division of Student Housing Office during office hours (located on the 1st floor of the Shui Mu Student Center).

1. Kitchen appliances, food warming equipment, and devices using 220V electricity are charged to the user and require the purchase of an air-conditioning card for operation. Desk lamps and sockets using 110V electricity do not require the card and can be used directly.
2. Where is the air-conditioning card used?
● All dormitory air conditioners (and heaters).
● Main lights and ceiling fans in the following dorms: Ming, Ping, Yi, Hua, Shiue, Ru, Tsing (window side), Li, Jen, Shyr, Cheng, Jing, Huei. Other dorms will be included in the future after renovations.
● Food warming equipment in all dormitories, public kitchens, and kitchen appliances in Dorm Hung.
3. How to purchase an air-conditioning card?
● Purchase Locations:
Main Campus: NTHU 7-Eleven or the card vending machine at the Service Center 1.
Nanda Campus: Card vending machine near the Music Building entrance of Shu-Te.

● Card Prices:

4. How to add value to the card?
● All air-conditioning cards can be recharged using the designated top-up machines installed in the dormitories.
● Top-up machines do not give change, so please prepare NT$100 bills.
● Do not attach stickers or tape to the card, as it may get stuck in the machine.
5. How to return the card and get a refund?
● New version cards: Refund of the NT$50 environmental deposit is available at convenience stores.
● Old version cards (blue-backed): No refund available for the environmental deposit.
● If there is remaining balance, please print a balance record and bring it to the Division of Student Housing during office hours to request a manual refund.
6. Additional Usage Notes
● If the card cannot be read, clean the chip with an eraser and try again.
● Card purchase, recharge, and refund services are not provided at the dormitory service centers. For assistance, please contact the Division of Student Housing.
● If the card reader memory is empty, inserting the card will automatically charge 1 unit of electricity to the device's memory.
● In case of power outages, please remove the card from the reader to avoid damage upon restoration.
● White-surfaced air-conditioning cards can only be used in venues managed by the Division of Student Activities and cannot be recharged using the dormitory top-up machines.

1. You must first connect to the internet via campus Wi-Fi, dormitory network, computer classrooms, or the library.
2. Applicants must first apply for a student email account or a DormNet account.

4. For dormitory network issues, please refer to the Computer and Communication Center's FAQ. If further assistance is needed, you may call ext. 31178 / 31000 (Main Campus) or 76405 (Nanda Campus).

● According to Article 3, subparagraph E of the Dorm Rules for NTHU: Students who are suspended, withdrawn, or graduated in the middle of the semester shall check out within seven days after the procedure is completed. Students with valid reasons may apply for an extension by a proposal from the counseling unit or personnel of the University.
● Requests to retain a bed during a leave of absence are only accepted for students who take leave within one week before final exams and plan to resume studies at the beginning of the following semester.

According to Article 9 of the Dorm Rules for NTHU:
A. Students who violate the regulations listed in the Point Deduction Standards Table shall be subject to the violation point deduction. Repeated violations of the same item within the same academic year shall result in double the point deduction.
B. Deductions for residents who violate the regulations are carried out by dormitory instructors, counselors of the Division of Student Assistance, staff of the Division of Student Housing, or dormitory head.
C. The point accumulation period for dormitory residents shall begin from the Check-in date (inclusive) of the fall semester of the current academic year and end on the day before the Check-in date of the fall semester of the following academic year. The deduction date shall be based on the issuance date of the "Violation Point Notification".
a. Residents who have accumulated 10 or more deduction points within one academic year will be cancelled or ineligible to apply for a bed in the next semester.
b. Residents who have accumulated 15 or more deduction points within one academic year shall be required to complete the bed give-up and check-out procedure within two weeks and will be cancelled or ineligible to apply for a bed in the next academic year.

1. Notice for Check-out
● Please clean your own beds, desks, cabinets, and floors, take away all personal belongings and trash, and leave the original furniture and equipment provided intact, clean, correct in quantity, functional and returned to its original location.
● After taking photos, please return the key and submit the "Dormitory Property Checkout Certificate" to the service center within 30 minutes.
● Please keep the clean photos by yourself. If a student checks out with untrue information or photos, the student's dormitory deposit will be deducted and the student's supervisor will be notified.
2. Dormitory Deposit Refund
Degree Students
● The dormitory deposit will be refunded to the resident's bank account registered in the Academic Information System after the semester ends. If the refund cannot be made because the student has not registered his/her account or has registered incorrectly, a check will be issued by the University and sent back to the student's permanent address by registered mail if the student has a registered address in Taiwan. If the student does not have a permanent address in Taiwan, he/she will be notified of the refund. However, if the refund still cannot be made after all, the refund amount will be temporarily transferred to the specific account of the University.
● Academic Year: Refunds will be processed by the end of August.
● Summer: Refunds will be processed by the end of October.
● Students who have graduated are advised not to close their Mega Bank, E.Sun Bank, or post office account until the refund is completed.
Exchange Students
● The deposit can be collected after completing the check-out procedure on the scheduled check-out date.
● If leaving early, please inform the Division of Student Housing staff during office hours (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM) to ensure the deposit can be collected before departure.
